Joy Forbes became Chair of the Los Angeles Conservancy’s Board of Directors in 2021. She serves as VP Planning & Development at NBCUniversal. In 2015, Forbes was recruited by NBCUniversal to work with the local community, ensuring build-out of the Universal Studios Master Plan, and maintaining strong relationships with government and business partners. She also assists the NBCUniversal Real Estate team globally with planning and land use entitlements. Prior to this position, she started her career at the City of Burbank in 1995, rising through several positions before becoming Director of the Community Development Department in 2012, where she oversaw Planning, Building, Transportation, Housing, and Economic Development functions.
